Welcome to Current Health 1
The April/May 2009 issue of Current Health 1 features all kinds of information to get your students ready for a healthy summer!
Our cover story is about summer camp. Whether kids go for a day or for the whole season, camp can provide young people with all kinds of healthy benefits. Other articles look at the wealth of fresh foods available in summer, examine some of the mysteries behind Lyme disease, talk about teens’ risk-taking tendencies, provide answers to some common friendship questions, and give young people the information they need to say no to taking part in the potentially deadly “choking game.”
And if all that wasn’t enough to keep you and your students busy, don’t miss our final Get Up and Go segment of the school year. Our April/May installment looks at ways to “Get Up and Keep Going” now, and all summer long. Check out this month’s pages and the previous months’ at www.weeklyreader.com/teens/get_up_go/index.asp.
Have a happy and healthy spring and summer, from all of us here at Current Health and Weekly Reader.
