Welcome to Career World's
January 2007
Web extension!

Time to celebrate National Mentoring Month! Think back to your early days of teaching; did you have a mentor? How did he or she guide you toward where you are today?

Do your students have mentors? If not, do they need mentors? Most likely, they do. Mentors can help us achieve our career, academic, and personal goals.

On page 9 of this issue of Career World, we’re featuring a story on the mentoring relationship, “Is There a Mentor In Your Future?” Print and distribute the reproducible page “Choosing a Mentor  to students to help them begin the process of finding the right mentor for them. For more information about National Mentoring Month or finding a mentor, visit MENTOR.

Don’t forget to enter the Career World “What’s Your Career Story?” essay contest. Students are invited to submit profiles of people whose careers they admire—whether it's a famous person or their next-door neighbor. Entries must be postmarked by March 23, 2007. Winners will be announced in April 2007.

This is your magazine. We'd love to know what you think of this issue and what you'd like to see in future issues. Please e-mail us with your comments and questions: careerworld@weeklyreader.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
